A hybrid of P. orientalis (Turkey) x P. occidentalis (E. USA) originating in London. Broadly columnar, deciduous. Trunk often continuous right through the crown. Bark flakes in large plates. Leaves up to 25cm across. Withstands city pollution, often pollarded as a street tree. Good furniture timber. Two-year-old plants offering greater stem diameter and more established plant.
