1 tall straight tree at Hackfalls, producing suckers readily eaten by sheep. Group established in Pig Valley arboretum. Grow from root cuttings or suckers, not from stem cuttings. Dark green shiny leaves with thick white furry undersides. Tolerates coastal salt laden air. Widespread acoss Europe. Cuttings at 40cm ("40-60cm" grade). Rooted plants topped at 1.2m ("90-1.2m" grade) or 1.5m ("1.2-1.5m" grade).
