P. maximowiczii from Hokkaido x fastigiate P. nigra from Turkey (not Lombardy). Narrow crown, very light branching smooth barked, good disease & possum resistance. Tolerates near coastal sites. Least vigorous of maxi-nigra crosses. Ideal where a healthy smaller growing densely foliaged tree required. Wood density 360 kg/m3. Cuttings at 40cm ("40-60cm" grade). Rooted plants topped at 1.2m ("90-1.2m" grade) or 1.5m ("1.2-1.5m" grade).
